“Novelist will be guest at Morehead State University reading series
MOREHEAD Novelist Eric Shonkwiler will read from his work as a part of the Morehead State University’s Reading Series at 7 p.m. today at the Kibbey Seminar Room, room 109 of the Bert Combs building on MSU campus.
Shonkwiler also will participate in a question-and-answer session at 2 p.m. at CoffeeTree Books. Both events are free.
Shonkwiler, an Ohio native, is the author of the critically acclaimed novel, Above All Men, chosen as a 2014 Midwest Connections Pick. The novel is a story of a war-veteran farmer with PTSD struggling to hold his family and farm together in the wake of the economic collapse of near-future America.
His writing has appeared in Los Angeles Review of Books, The Millions, Fiddleblack, [PANK] Magazine, and Midwestern Gothic. He received his MFA in fiction from University of California-Riverside, has taught college English and creative writing and was Regional Editor for Los Angeles Review of Books, as well as a former reader for [PANK] and former Editor-in-Chief and fiction editor for Crate Magazine.
