Born: April 24th, 1985, Ohio
Attended Wittenberg University and graduated with a BA in East Asian Studies and English. I went on a long roadtrip out west and upon my return finished my first novel, either Home or Long Way Home depending on when you ask, on September 17th, 2007. Finished my second novel, A City at Peace, January 12th, 2009. Long Way Home was a quarterfinalist in Amazon.com’s Breakthrough Novel Award in 2009. In late 2009 I moved to California to attend the MFA program at UC Riverside, and before the close of my first year finished a third novel, Above All Men, which was excerpted in Verdad Magazine. A full list of my writing credits can be seen here.
I was fiction/poetry editor for CRATE Literary Journal for the 2010 volume, and am now Editor-in-Chief. I am Co-editor of Phantom Seed vol. IV, a journal of desert literature, and am an editorial assistant for the soon-to-be-launched Los Angeles Review of Books.
