About

In The Land of the Lotus Eaters is an account of my life as a writer, midwestern transplant, and MFA student in Riverside, California.  As often as this blog will be about my life, I’ll also do off-the-cuff book reviews, ramble about music, and occasionally gift you with my vast writing knowledge.  The title is a Tennyson/Hank Moody reference– I walk a thin line of loathing modernity and embracing it.  Makes things interesting.

You’ll note too that this website as a whole is serving as a platform for myself on the internet.  There are links and lists of publications, contact information, excerpts of my work, and eventually flashier accoutrements like virtual bookshelves.

I’d love to learn more about your MFA program. I’m currently putting together my application for a Creative Writing MA program and of course, the web is full of flak for such programs. I want it so I can teach eventually. Anyway, looking forward to new posts.
