I was also able to get a compendium of the complete works of Poe in hardcover for $6. Incredible. I was also kinda wondering what your lit classes are like; kind of assumed that there would be stylistic disagreements but if I were you I'd err on the side of tone since that's your strong point from what I've read from the Amazon excerpt. That's so beyond fabulous. Sounds like you had a nice roadtrip, despite things. And yeah, I miss the workshop environment. Sure it has its flaws, but what doesn't? Also, I hate to say but I agree that dialogue isn't intended to recreate reality as exactly as possible. Too many um's and like's that way. (That's a half joke, but only half.) That said, I remember reading your Amazon excerpt and seeing the strength and masculinity in your writing.
